CONTAMINACIÓN PLÁSTICA PESQUERA

En las costas Patagónicas, la mayor parte de los residuos plásticos acumulados en las playas provienen de la actividad pesquera. Esto representa una gran amenaza para la biodiversidad y los ecosistemas marinos y costeros, especialmente para especies en peligro de extinción y hábitats vulnerables.

MARINE PROTECTED AREA: NAMUNCURÁ – BURDWOOD BANK II

It is a submerged plateau that, being shallower than the surrounding areas and influenced by surrounding currents, triggers the upwelling of nutrients from the depths, transforming its terrain into an explosion of life.

PENINSULA MITRE NATURAL PROTECTED AREA

Located at the eastern end of the Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego. It is the largest carbon capture point in the country, key to the mitigation of global warming.

Salmon farming is the farming and harvesting of salmonids, under controlled conditions, for commercial purposes. The environmental impacts of this activity are irreversible.

MARINE PROTECTED AREAS: YAGANES

The conservation area covers 69,000 km2, encompassing both the soils of the continental shelf and those of the continental slope. The seabed of this area is still largely unexplored.
